"With the emblem of "Ambassador of Tourism" and with a commemorative plaque, the British Kevin and Gail Smith (31 times), Ron and Dorothy Cox (104 times), and the Austrian Ulrike Dom Weber (70 times) were honored by the Municipality of Ayia Napa for their repeated visits.
The highest honorary distinction of the Municipality was awarded to the honorees on behalf of the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannettou, in a solemn ceremony that took place in the reception area of the Municipal Mansion, by the Cultural Officer of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, Mrs. Maria Tofini.
Mrs. Tofini expressed her heartfelt thanks for making so many visits to Ayia Napa and for the indirect but significant role they play in promoting our region's tourist product in their homeland as well as abroad in general, as she notably mentioned they represent and advertise it in the most tangible and convincing way.
She also noted that they are no longer considered mere visitors but residents of Ayia Napa."
